From Bern to Cape Town by bike

Approximately 12,000 km and 100,000 meters of elevation were covered through temperate, subtropical, and tropical zones, including the Mediterranean region, the deserts of the Middle East and Southern Africa, as well as the savanna landscapes around the equator..
While Elias rode the entire route, Sofia joined for three months starting in mid-January 2025. She cycled the route from Kampala (Uganda), through Rwanda, to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
We stayed in a tent, various accommodations, and wherever else felt safe and comfortable. Throughout the journey, we connected with locals and learned about their dreams, perspectives, and life experiences.
